Dr. Anne-Marie Nelson

Dr. Anne-Marie Nelson graduated Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1999 and founded Proactive Chiropractic, PLLC in 2002.  Before beginning private practice she was a post-doctoral resident in the Rehabilitation and Sports Injury Department at Palmer College and is certified by the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board.

Dr. Nelson holds additional certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine as an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and by the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Dr. Nelson is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Level 1 and 2, a full body movement screening system used to identify dysfunctional movement patterns that ultimately lead to musculoskeletal  pain. 

Anne-Marie holds certifications in Active Release Technique (ART) of the spine, upper extremity and lower extremity – a patented soft tissue technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia (connective tissue) and nerves.

Dr. Anne-Marie has completed a course in cold laser therapy (also know as photobiomodulation – PBM or low level laser therapy – LLLT) with Thor Photomedicine Ltd.  This non-invasive light therapy can improve soft tissue repair, reduce pain and decrease inflammation where applied.  PBM has been used for many years on sports injuries, arthritic joints, neck and back pain.  Over 700 randomized clinical trials have been published on PBM.

Dr. Nelson is the designated HIPAA Security Officer for the office and also handles the business management of the group. She is a partner at Premier Golf and Fitness, a multidisciplinary fitness facility that employs a comprehensive approach to golf performance enhancement.  She is Level One and Level Two Medical Provider certified by the Titleist Performance Institute.  www.premiergolfandfit.com

The goal of patient assessment and treatment at Proactive is to improve the mechanics of the body and allow our patients to participate in their activities of daily living with less pain and better function.  Dr. Nelson combines decades of experience with countless hours of continuing education to provide her patients with a comprehensive approach to what is usually a multifaceted problem.
